Telehealth & Virtual Vet Consultations for Dogs & Cats in Ormeau

Expert Care, Wherever You Are

At My Kind of Vet, we know that some pets are calmer and happier in the comfort of their own home — and that’s where telehealth vet can help.

Our virtual consultations allow you to speak directly with our veterinary team for advice, follow-ups, and guidance without leaving home.
It’s a safe, easy way to check in about your pet’s health, behaviour, or medications — especially if they get anxious about vet visits.

When a Telehealth Appointment Can Help

Telehealth is ideal for situations where your pet doesn’t need a hands-on exam.
We often use it for:

  • Follow-up checks after surgery or treatment

  • Medication reviews or prescription renewals (where appropriate)

  • Behaviour and anxiety guidance (in combination with our Behaviour & Anxiety Support services)

  • Palliative care or chronic condition monitoring, in line with our Palliative Care program

  • Senior pet check-ins for mobility, nutrition, or comfort advice (Senior Pet Care)

  • Pre-visit planning for nervous pets, so we can prepare a fear-free experience

For more hands-on care, we can easily transition from a telehealth consult to an in-person appointment or Mobile Vet Home Visit.

When a Physical Exam Is Still Needed

While telehealth is a great tool, some situations require an in-person visit so we can perform a physical examination or diagnostic tests.
We’ll always let you know when this is necessary.

In-person care is required for:

  • Emergencies or rapidly worsening symptoms (Emergency & Critical Care)

  • Vaccinations and preventive care

  • New illnesses, lumps, injuries, or ear/skin issues

  • Diagnostic imaging or lab testing

If your pet needs to be seen, we’ll book an in-clinic or home visit for seamless continuity of care.

How Telehealth Works

  1. Book your virtual appointment online or over the phone.

  2. Receive your secure video link via email or text.

  3. Join from your phone, tablet, or computer — no special software required.

  4. Speak directly with your vet, just as you would in the clinic.

  5. Receive a follow-up summary, including any recommendations or prescriptions.

We make sure you get the same clear explanations, compassion, and support that you’d expect during an in-person consultation.

Fear-Free & Comfort-Focused

Telehealth helps reduce stress for anxious, senior, or mobility-impaired pets.
By keeping them in a familiar environment, we can observe natural behaviour and provide calmer, more accurate assessments — especially for cats and nervous dogs.

Our fear-free certified team will also guide you on creating a calm setup for virtual visits — with quiet spaces, treats, and gentle handling tips.

Home Visits Across Ormeau & the Northern Gold Coast

If your pet needs a physical exam or follow-up after a telehealth consult, our Mobile Vet Clinic can come to you.
We provide in-home care across Ormeau, Pimpama, Coomera, and parts of South Brisbane, offering diagnostics, vaccinations, and gentle, stress-free visits in your pet’s own space.

Compassionate Support, Wherever You Need Us

Whether it’s a check-in about medication, anxiety, or comfort, we’re here to help — in clinic, at home, or online.
Our goal is always the same: to make veterinary care calm, accessible, and kind for every pet.
