Dr Anna graduated in Brazil in 2009 and moved to Australia in 2012. She has a strong passion for behaviour and complex medical cases. Dr Anna focuses on providing an integrative approach to health, offering services like Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Her primary focus is to provide evidence-based medicine and educate pet owners about their pet health so they can make the best decisions for their pets.

Kindness is the art of seeing other living beings through their eyes, striving to comprehend their perspective, and extending understanding towards their unique situations.

Dr Sonja was born and raised in South Africa. With qualifications and extensive experience in wildlife management, veterinary practice and alternative medicine, Sonja brings a unique and highly regarded set of skills to our clinic. 

Her decade of experience in a rural mixed practice in a wildlife-rich area sees her well-equipped to deal with emergency situations, surgery, and a wide range of clinical cases in many different types of animals, both domesticated and wild.

Dr Magda, our dedicated veterinarian, earned her degree from Warmia and Mazury University in Poland in 2014. She embarked on a seven-year adventure in the United Kingdom, where she worked as a locum vet across various practices. Amidst the challenges of the Covid pandemic, and her love for outdoor activities and surfing led her to Australia, which she now calls home.

Dr. Smolak's international experience, combined with her passion for providing top-notch care, makes her a valued member of our team. Whether she's tending to your pets or riding the waves, she approaches life with enthusiasm and dedication.

Kindness is to me caring for others while also respecting their boundaries.

Trish joins us with over 25 years of experience in the HR industry. Having always dreamt of working in a veterinary clinic, Trish excellently combines her experience in managing people with her passion for caring for animals.

Sarah started in the veterinary industry in 2008, becoming a fully qualified veterinary nurse in 2012.  Throughout her career, she’s had the opportunity to work with a variety of small and large animals. 

In 2016, Sarah and her husband, Travis, welcomed their daughter, Hannah, into the world. Sarah joined our team in 2017 and has been with us ever since. 

What does kindness mean to Sarah?

Kindness is the essence of genuine care and consideration, an act of reaching out to others with empathy, making the world a more compassionate and understanding place.

Ana graduated in 2010 in Brazil and worked as a veterinarian until moving to Australia in 2016. She began working as a vet nurse and quickly realised she preferred the one-on-one patient care that comes with nursing. 

Ana has a keen interest in veterinary nutrition and formulates our homemade diet plans. She is also passionate about rehabilitation, helping animals recover after orthopaedic surgeries, and improving the quality of life for our golden oldies.

What does kindness mean to Ana?

Kindness is treating others with love, and respect and offering help when they are in need. It's about empathy and making a difference in someone else's life.

Pet: Pepper

Originally from Hong Kong, Gabriel moved to the Gold Coast with her husband in 2016. She began volunteering in a local shelter before becoming a qualified veterinary nurse in 2020 and joined our wonderful team in 2020.

What does kindness mean to Gabriel?

Kindness, to me, is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon others. It fulfils my heart when I can be the reason someone believes in good people.

Isabelle graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019 as a Veterinary Technician. Since then, she has worked as a Veterinary Nurse in Toowoomba and now with My Kind of Vet here on the Gold Coast.  Isabelle loves all aspects of nursing but has a keen interest in Radiography and Surgical Nursing. 

What does kindness mean to Isabelle?

To me, kindness means helping someone out who looks like they’re struggling. It also means being there for someone in a time of need and lifting them up if they need it.

Melissa brings a wealth of experience to her role as a Veterinary Nurse. With a career spanning 25 years as a hairdresser, Melissa decided to make a change and follow her passion for nursing. She was fortunate to secure a position that allowed her to learn on the job while pursuing her studies, and she has now been a nurse for 8 years. 

What does kindness mean to Melissa?

Showing empathy and compassion and being kind towards humans and animals. It's about being considerate, helpful, and understanding, often without expecting anything in return.

Pets: Smudge & Bodhi

Since she was little, Angela has had a big love for animals, big and small. Since 2018, she has volunteered with animal rescue organisations and helped dogs find new homes through foster care. She has been an integral part of My Kind of Vet since 2020. 

What does kindness mean to Angela?

Kindness to me means understanding and empathy. It means always doing whatever you are capable of to assist others and spread happiness.

Pet: Maverick

Amie has always had a passion for both wildlife and domesticated pets. With experience in a doggy daycare centre to now undertaking further animal care studies, Amie is incredibly passionate about providing the best level of service and care to people and their pets. 

What does kindness mean to Amie?

Kindness is more than deeds. It is an attitude, an expression, a look, a touch. Kindness is the only language everyone understands, no matter their situation.

Jess joins us at My Kind of Vet from a retail pet background. Jess enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets and helping them to navigate the world of our pet products. She brings with her a strong interest in pet nutrition and the world of reptiles (having a few of her own at home).

Kindness to me means treating others how you would want to be treated. Showing everyone compassion and empathy no matter what.
